Join our campaign.

We can’t do it alone. We need you to help us save this world-famous Sussex site.

We urgently need at least £250,000 for phase 1 to protect the western side of the beach and this magnificent landscape at Cuckmere Haven before it’s too late.

Any donation, no matter how large  or small, to our Cuckmere Haven SOS charity will go a long way towards helping us achieve this goal. You can also help us raise awareness, fundraise or become a Cuckmere Champion.

If you’ve been inspired or charmed by Cuckmere Haven, please help us ensure that you and future generations can continue to enjoy this place.

Other ways to get involved

Become a champion

Send us a message with your contact details and a little information about your connection with Cuckmere and lend your name and enthusiasm to the cause. You might like to help with events and fundraising activities, or just spread the word about what we are trying to achieve.

Working bees

In previous years we have called on volunteers to help at a number of working bees to make emergency repairs to our sea defences. The tasks have included shovelling, mixing and pouring concrete, as well as feeding and watering the hungry workers. Please subscribe to our mailing list to receive word about these working bees. Your efforts will be rewarded with a lifelong connection to the community at Cuckmere Haven.

Introduce us

Do you know of any trusts, companies, agencies or influential people who might help us?  Please consider putting us in contact or making an introduction.

Fundraise

Use your creativity and energy to raise funds. Previous fundraising efforts include Anthony Albrecht’s moonlight cello concert at the cottages, as well as the annual Lapwing Music Festival. We have also received donations from book and painting sales, through Celebrate Cuckmere Haven Art Exhibition, and Heritage Open Days. We’d love to hear your ideas on how to raise funds.

Raise awareness

Your help in raising awareness for our cause is probably the most important aspect. Please help us spread the word by talking, meeting and using Social Media.

We have Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages where updates can be found, along with information on upcoming events that are being organised to raise funds.

A note on donations

Cuckmere Haven SOS is a UK registered charity. The cost of this work will be entirely separate in funding terms from any work done to protect the specific foundations and immediate curtilage of the cottages. It is the responsibility of the owners to pay for and carry out this work, as they have already done substantially over the years.

“86 million years old and the White Cliffs of Sussex are on our doorstep!
With their stunning views they  become even more wonderful with familiarity.”

— Patrick McCausland, Past Chairman, Seaford Head Nature Reserve
